A sneak peak of our Pet Rock City

Have you ever had a project that feels like its never gonna end?
I think Phyl is feeling my sentiments with the cats right now! This project is super adorable and the kids have come up with some awesome ideas for “The City of Rockston” Like the little White House with Ba”rock” Obama, parks, apartments, hotels, schools, and they even made it green with solar panels and a recycling center. I just hope it is finsihed this week!

Art Birthday Party and a bunch of random stuff.

Last weekend, I did an Art birthday party for one of my photography clients. Their daughter turned 6 and this is what she wanted. They had the CUTEST outdoor studio set up with 8 little kid tables and 25  little colored kid sized fold up chairs, it was so cute!

A few students have been coming in my room during their recess to finish work. They are so good that sometimes I let them do a special project. This was a neon painting for the glow room. The face was done using photoshop and my LCD projector. Email me if you have questions about how to do it…

I LOVE working with spray paint and recently started an Earth Day project with fifth grade. They made a simple design, cut it out to form a stencil, and then paint!

This was made from a drawing the student made of Hello Kitty, cutting, and using silver spray paint. We also used a Valentine decoration for the “LOVE”

The “Glow Station” and a Sculpture Present! (updated)

26 thank you's

Today after lunch, I had a student totally make my day. The kindergarten student who made the Angry bird sculpture with me yesterday asked me if I would post it online. I posted the picture last night and today he wrote me TWENTY SIX thank you notes. He brought me a PILE of papers...each one saying the same exact thing ..."Thank you for pooting my art on the wabsit!"

This morning I was greeted by a kindergartener and an extraordinary sculpture gift he had made for me out of lots of found objects glued onto a foam board. As I talked to him about it, we both thought it looked like a scene from the Angry Birds Game. I gave him some paint, paper, yarn, and goobly eyes and this is what we ended up with!! He was so proud of his creation! edit8

Black Light Painting and Cupid Tracks

I have set up a black light in the room for a glow painting center! My goal is to have four of these lamps, so I can light the whole room. This lamp only cost $15 and it is two feet long.
