First we painted with Cool Colors using large brushes and texture rollers
then warm colors
they did not paint their arms for the neck, it was added with the brush
Then cut, assemble, glue, and add feathers to the neck with pearlescent paint mixed with blue liquid watercolor.
I will add the kid’s finished products to this post next week.
Yes definitely! I did it with k-2nd. It takes a while though. I have ended up making several large warm color paintings for them to cut from. So it takes one class to paint cool colors and stamp hands, and another class (sometimes two) to cut out the pieces and glue it all together.
This is such a cool project! I modified your idea and used it during our Summer Fine Arts and Math program to reinforce fractions. The students loved it.
Ahhhhmazing! I teach Art camps through our county rec department, and this project will definitely be on the list for the next sesson! Thanks for posting, you are truly a gifted artist!
Love, love, LOVE this! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDo you think that with help, my first graders could do this?
