I’m Back
Well I know I havn’t posted much this summer, but now that school has started, I have so many ideas and am excited to start up the blog once again!! I love seeing everyone’s room set ups! Here is my before picture, I hope to have the after pic by the end of the week! I did happen to hang my Fred Babb inspired mural! GET SMART MAKE ART!!
He has a poster book that I highly recommend buying for your classroom. Every page is a poster and they are very colorful and have great inspiring quotes like "Art can't hurt you." "Art is one of the few things left worth doing." “Time becomes meaningless in the face of creativity” "Good art is often too broad to fit through narrow minds." And the classic: "Good art won't match your sofa." They are my favorite and fit perfectly on a cabinet door. Here is the link to get the book

YAY for SCHOOL STARTING!!!!

For my first week project I am going to have each student in the entire school draw themselves doing their favorite Olympic sport. It will be a GIANT Where’s Waldo display. Our theme this year is “Be a Champion Every Day” I will use the little wooden people to help with gesture drawing. They will draw with black markers and color with red, white, and blue crayons, pencils, and markers, and cut them out. I am having the principal make one and I will place him in a new spot every day! I am so excited.

My girls started school today…calm down, babies, I know you’re excited!!

They did have fun after school using my favorite Crayola Window Crystal Effects Markers!

Auction Piece

This was my auction piece for our Spark Park Auction. It was acrylic on foam board and the bubbles were made from various jewels donated by Charming Charlie. I hope the buyer donates it back so I can keep it...selfish, I know, but it IS MY daughter! Heres the photo inspiration I took a few weeks ago

Lines, Lines, and Fish Bowls Oh My!!
We are studying LINES right now and we started this project today. They are not done yet, but I just couldn’t wait! I will post some finished ones next week! We have done the crazy Hair Day project in the past but I thought this would be fun and the kids LOVED it!
They had a HUGE VARIETY of materials, paint, markers, colored pencils, stamps, crayons, and, oil pastels
Students had to make the lines OVERLAP by stopping and continuing on the other side when it crossed over.
I can’t WAIT for them to finish! Their line ideas were AWESOME!
Kinder and first grade are making fish bowls
I got this idea on pinterest from this blog http://www.walkingbytheway.com/blog/?p=821

Of course we put our own twist to it. It was a good way to get kinder painting and learning our procedures with paint and clean up! One kid suggested our fish have a castle, so some drew it with pastels and I cut some out to glue on.
1. glue bowl to paper
2. paint water LIGHT blue using the paint, dip in water THEN go to paper technique
3.paint rocks, and a plant
4. hand print sideways
5. decorate with oil pastels and paper scraps
I got these really cool goobly eyes at Michaels in the Halloween craft section! They were purple, orange, and green
