I am so excited about our new Kindergarten and First grade project! They will get to dress up for a FUN picture, design their own Hot Air Balloon and paint a beautiful watercolor, sunset sky!!
How much fun! I know the children are Loving this! I really like the watercolor skies. Can you tell me how the clouds and baskets were created? I would love to try this. Thanks!
Hi Mary!! I used a very wet rag to make each paper very wet as I passed them out so the liquid water colors would blend nicely. Then when it had dried a tiny bit we used acrylic white paint to dab the clouds on. I used a texture plate to make a texture rubbing for the basket and acrylic cool colors for the balloon! These are my samples. The kids painted skies today and they look gorgeous!! I'm bringing top hats, crowns, and all sorts of props for thd photos.
Awesome! I am doing something similar with a bunch of my students where I am incorporating their photograph into the collages they are making (you actually were one of my inspirations with your rain/umbrella post!) I am having trouble with the technical part: Could you tell me how you were able to perfectly size the photographs on the computer so that they printed out to be the right size for the paper and image? Thanks so much!
